Manila Bulletin Job Fair 2013
September 24-25, 2013
SM City, Cebu
The Manila Bulletin will hold a series of job fair that will connect with more diverse clients.
“People would always think that a job fair is only for call centers, (but) we are not. This is a change,“ Manila Bulletin Classified Advertising Vice President Lyne Abanilla said.
With the theme “Your First Day of Work Starts with Us,“ the 6th Classifieds Job Fair 2013 will be held at the SM North EDSA Skydome on August 13-14; SM Cebu on September 24-25, and SM Santa Rosa in Laguna on October 15-16.
With over 50 employers, vari ous industries will be integrated in the job fair that is expected to cater to some 5,000 jobseekers ranging from fresh college graduates to “workers who want a change of environment.“
“We have a hospital, a bank, and of course, call centers joining,“ said Abanilla. “We are also trying to knock on the doors of real estate industries.“
Among the companies that have committed to participate in the job fair are AXA Philippines, one of the major life insurance providers; and Startek Inc. and 24/7 Inc., both part of the business process outsourcing (BPO) industry.
Abanilla added that the job fair, in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DoLE), PhilHealth, and other agencies essential to employment prerequisites, will be “a one-stop shop.“
“This year, we have a personal touch with our clients. We visit them and we don’t do this normally,“ said Abanilla.
Manila Bulletin managers, who are equally good speakers and have good topics to discuss, will be among the event speakers, according to Abanilla. (Leo O. Laparan II and Almira Bianca M. Landicho)
